Gone Fishing

My son James and I woke up Sunday morning around 6:00 to go fishing. I figured that I should take him someplace that would pretty much guarantee him a catch since it was going to be his first time and I didn’t want him to get discouraged. I took him to a small and safe man made lake. After about a half hour we had our first strike, a cat fish that was half the size of James. I let him reel it in. The fish nearly put him in the soup put he managed.

We had a great time.

*This was a catch & release lake. We don't eat catfish anyway.

My boys were up BEFORE 6 am on a Sunday morning to go fishing...they came back with smiles and all relaxed. James was too tired to do too much.
He told me tonight that he had fun with daddy and wants to go again tomorrow....so daddy are you up to it?
Just wait until after 7 to get up this time, please?

Those are GREAT pictures! Don't you just love carrying on that tradition, and enjoying something peaceful together? Something without electricity or batteries or lots of cost involved?

I'm very happy for you.

Great pictures!

I haven't a clue how to fish. You'll have to get James to show me how if I ever make it over.

Belovedlife: How did you know? We did wait until 7. For those who are new to my blog, beloved life is my wife.

Tracy: Yes, the absents of technology was not missed.

Sara: Get Nathanial out there ASAP. Mike won’t regret it.

Kim: We’ll make it real easy for ya. Just like shooting fish in a barrel.

Rebecca: Thanks, and sorry for him.

Jeff: We had a blast. James enjoyed playing with the worms. I’m sure Nash enjoyed too. Sorry to hear about the little mishap with the hook. That’s just the fisherman’s initiation.

Tammy and Parker: Thank you and welcome. Let’s just see if we can keep it going.

Amy flege: It’s so peaceful by the water early in the morning. I wish I could start every day like that.

Wow! That is one big catfish! James looks so much like you--same smile. I love that this is a tradition that you shared with your father and now with your son. Can't wait to see Amanda hook her first catch.

Hi There. I have officially started a petition for changing the way a prenatal diagnosis is given to new and expecting parents. If you are interested in this issue, please stop by and sign my petition. We can all change this system and get the Prentally Diagnosed Condition Act Passed, introduced by Senator's Kennedy and Brownback. Thank you.
